Research shows that an individual’s ability to successfully obtain, maintain, and reintegrate into the workplace is an important outcome indicator in the addiction recovery process. However, re-entering the workforce while or even after undergoing treatment for addiction can be overwhelming. It’s important to remember you’re not alone.
When I first started to use drugs, I never thought I would become the person I eventually did. I swore I would never do certain things, that I had limits to my use. But with time I stretched those limits and finally, in the end, I did not have any.
2017 is finally here and we are so excited for the new year. January offers us a clean slate. It’s a time for resolutions and tackling the obstacles before us with aplomb. We’re ready to take on 2017!
Chipotle hosted a fundraiser for us on November 18th in which every person who ate at a Chipotle on Long Island and mentioned EAC Network saw 50% of their purchase donated back to us. Every holiday season, I receive more gifts than I know what to do with. While I am grateful for the generosity of my friends and family, I often end up like the lady to my right – overwhelmed by the amount of new items and wondering where I’m going to put all of them. I don’t want to hide them away to be forgotten about until the next time I clean out my closet (which is rare). Instead of presents, I’ve asked my friends and family to make donations to the at-risk populations that EAC Network serves.
Erinn Hayes, star of CBS’ latest hit sitcom, Kevin Can Wait, made an inspirational video rallying fans to donate to EAC Network for their end of year giving campaign. The cast and crew of Kevin Can Wait is dedicated to making Long Island a better place by filming in Bethpage and promoting locals on the show. We are so grateful they have chosen us as the beneficiary of the show’s first giving campaign!
Visit Specialist Jessica Lardizzone has been with Nassau Supervised Visitation since 2012 and recently received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Jessica works incredibly well with pre-adolescent and adolescent girls that have experienced trauma.
