Custody and Visitation Mediation Program

The Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers (LIDRC) Custody and Visitation Mediation Program offers a no-cost, effective way for co-parents to create workable co-parenting agreements. Funded by New York State, our program is designed to assist families in resolving disputes related to custody and visitation in a constructive and collaborative manner.

1. Comprehensive Support for Co-Parents: Our mediation program addresses a wide range of co-parenting topics to ensure comprehensive and balanced agreements. These include:

• Decision Making: Establishing who makes decisions about your child’s education, health care, and other important matters.
• Schedules: Creating detailed and flexible parenting schedules that work for both parents and the child.
• Communication: Developing effective communication strategies to maintain a cooperative co-parenting relationship.
• Relocation: Mediating agreements on relocation to ensure the best interests of the child are prioritized.

2. Accessible and Free: This program is provided at no cost to participants, thanks to funding from New York State. We believe that financial constraints should not be a barrier to finding peaceful resolutions for your family.

3. Flexible Case Acceptance: We accept self-referred cases, allowing parents to seek mediation on their own terms. Additionally, we partner with the Suffolk County Family Court to offer mediation services for court-referred cases.
