On June 9th, Chance to Advance had a Ladies’ Night Out Fundraiser hosted by Barre-Tique Fitness in Port Jefferson Station. Chance to Advance employees, Barre-Tique staff, and fun-loving supporters of Chance to Advance got together to raise funds and have a great time.

Our Senior Centers provide participants with a hot lunch as well as fun activities like Zumba, bingo, board games, karaoke, and crafts. Occasionally, we have generous volunteers who team up with our Senior Centers to host a special craft, which is exactly what a team from PSEG Long Island did recently. PSEG has a long history of community outreach, and we’re always pleased to have their cheerful, supportive volunteers.
Today, March 21, is World Poetry Day! Every year on March 21 we celebrate the unique capacity that poetry has to capture a message. This day promotes the study of poetry in schools, reinforces the connection between poetry and the other arts, and encourages young and old to take a hand in writing poetry.
