Recently, volunteers from BDO’s Melville office spent a day giving back to EAC Network programs. We greatly appreciate BDO’s commitment to our Long Island community!
One of the programs that the BDO volunteers worked with was Safe Start. Safe Start promotes child passenger safety, and one of its primary goals is to ensure all car seats are properly installed. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death in children ages 1-12. Safe Start works to keep children protected when they are in a vehicle. The volunteers spent time beautifying the Butterfly Garden outside of the Safe Start house.
“BDO is proud to support EAC Network in their efforts to empower, assist and care for people in need across Long Island,” said Ayanna Newell, Business Development Executive at BDO in Melville. “BDO provides assurance, tax, financial advisory and consulting services to a wide range of publicly traded and privately held companies. For more than 100 years, BDO has provided quality service through the active involvement of experienced and committed professionals.”
Our BDO volunteers also organized the toy storage room at our Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center, and donated new toys and interactive self-discovery journals for the children. The Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) reduces the trauma of child sexual/physical abuse or neglect and promotes the coordinated prosecution of offenders. The CAC works to protect the children as much as possible, and make the process as comfortable as they can.
Thank you, BDO, for giving back to our Long Island neighbors in need! Check out our photos below!
