Join our Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers for a two-day, 15-hour training on custody and visitation mediation. You must complete the basic mediation training prior to taking this course.
Part 146 Approved—this training is approved by the NYS Unified Court System’s Office of ADR Programs for minimum qualification to be on court mediation panels (please note that final placement on any court roster is at the discretion of the local Administrative Judge and participation in a course that is either approved or pending approval does not guarantee placement on a local court roster).

About the trainer, Michelle M. Smith:
Before joining the Judiciary, Ms. Smith was the Associate Executive Director for Community Mediation Services (CMS), a New York-based not-for-profit that provides conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolution processes for litigants in the court systems. During her tenure at CMS, Ms. Smith served in many roles including a case worker for at-risk adolescents, certified community, special education, and family mediation, and was the Director of the New York City Family Mediation Program. Ms. Smith is also certified as a basic and family mediation trainer by the New York Office of Court Administration.
