Shanae had difficulty finding a job after completing two years at Nassau Community College and being a single parent to a two-year-old girl. She and her daughter live with her parents, who have helped support them. While Shanae is grateful for their help, she wanted to give her child a stable and comfortable future.

Being a caregiver is a full-time job. Those who support their elderly family members do so at a cost to their personal lives and health. Our In-Home Respite Services program provides in-home companions to relieve caregivers and give them some time-off.
We know being a parent is difficult, but it’s even harder when simultaneously dealing with family issues like divorce and custody. Many single parents who need to attend court business are forced to bring their children with them due to the high costs of childcare. However, in certain instances being in court could possibly expose children to traumatic experiences as they observe the discord in family situations.
