Annual Appeal Letter
Dear EAC Network Partner,
We hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well.
As we enter the season of giving, we are reminded of the immense power of compassion — the way it can spark hope, transform lives, and create ripples of change. At EAC Network, we believe deeply in the beauty of equity, the dignity every person deserves, and the life-changing potential of a second chance – values we know resonate in your heart. Since 1979, we have walked hand in hand with individuals in New York City and Long Island, offering a guiding light as they bravely confront the challenges of mental illness, substance use, and the profound struggles tied to justice system involvement.
With your tax-deductible year-end gift, we can help our neighbors reclaim their futures and build safe and stronger communities.
Behind every statistic is a person — a parent longing to reunite with their child, a young adult yearning to find stability, a community member fighting for a second chance. These are the people we serve through our Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) programs and Reentry services.
EAC Network’s impact is undeniable. While New York City’s overall recidivism rate hovers around 45%, those who participate in EAC’s ATI program, TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities), experience a dramatically reduced rate of just 26%. These numbers tell a powerful story of hope and transformation.
The journey to healing and reintegration is not easy. It requires breaking down barriers, addressing complex behavioral health challenges, and rebuilding connections that restore hope. It’s the kind of work that changes lives and strengthens communities – but we can’t do it alone.
This holiday season, as we reflect on what truly matters, we invite you to be a part of this life-changing mission. Your generosity can provide someone with the support they need to overcome unimaginable challenges, reunite with their family, and become a beacon of strength in their community.
Will you make this season not just one of celebration, but of compassion and impact? A year-end, tax-deductible contribution can transform despair into hope for countless individuals and families.
Together, we can continue to change lives and build a safer, stronger, and more compassionate community for all.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Neela Mukherjee Lockel, MSW, MPA
