In collaboration with New York State and Local departments, EAC Network provides access to those who qualify for the following programs to help you navigate your journey toward rehabilitation with hope and resilience.
Abusive Partner Intervention Program (APIP): Confronting the Source of Behavioral Issues
People’s behaviors are affected and influenced by so many types of circumstances. Tragedy, hardships, isolation, and abusive home environments are some of the harsh influences that can shape an individual’s violent and abusive behavior.
EAC Network’s API program looks to break this cycle of behavior and work towards finding the root cause for the participants’ behavior and support for recovery. Through behavioral and cognitive strategies, the program aims to help them recognize their behavior and pursue healthy and non-violent relationships.
Prevention and Education Can Lead to Rehabilitation and Recovery
The opioid epidemic continues to make a devastating impact on our community. Individuals heavily addicted to opioids and fentanyl face severe life-and-death circumstances as they seek ways to get sober.
Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (OOPP)
For many, one of the most effective recovery resources is prevention through education and action. Through our OOPP, we provide Narcan, assistance and training to anyone enrolled or a part of our substance abuse & behavioral court treatment programs. Along with this life-saving drug, our OOPP peer recovery coaches have created and implemented ways to reduce and prevent opioid use and deaths in the communities throughout the five boroughs.
Providing the Resources to Address Mental Health is the Bridge to Hope for Recovery
Recovery encompasses many things, including mental health. Unfortunately, far too many individuals with mental health issues are in our prison system. Rikers Island, one of New York’s largest jails, stated that 18% of those in their custody in 2022 had a severe mental illness.
Yet, if many of these individuals had received the proper medical care and mental health services, they could have possibly avoided incarceration in the first place. Furthermore, if there is no program or service for their mental health needs upon release from prison, close to half are destined to return.
Two EAC Network programs that provide recovery resources for these issues are:
- Mental Health Diversion program offers alternatives to incarceration through court monitoring services that provide case management and treatment for individuals with serious mental health issues.
- Community Re-entry Assistance Network (CRAN) program provides additional services for those released from prison with severe mental illness. The goal is to help address their mental health needs and help establish long-term stability and recovery.
The Goal of All Recovery Resources and Services
