Between April 3 and April 7, 2017, the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, invited the public to support EAC Network’s Chance to Advance program, which reduces risk factors for local youth in foster care by promoting life skills and enrichment through one-on-one mentoring and group activities.

Together with the public and a separate grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, $9,000 was raised to enable 50 at-risk youth to participate in college tours and mentoring sessions.

“Chance to Advance is an EAC Network program that operates solely on private donations and grants,” said Demishia Owens, M.S., CASAC-T, Program Director at EAC Network.  “Community support like this from TD Bank and all of the individuals who donated is integral to sustaining our program, and we can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity.”

Five area TD Bank branches, including 3560 Veterans Memorial Highway in Bohemia, 2822 Middle Country Road in Lake Grove, 474 Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma, 1806 Medford Avenue in Medford, and 320 Rt. 25A in Rocky Point accepted monetary donations through the bank’s Bring Change program, which supports people and organizations in communities across the bank’s footprint that are making a meaningful, local difference, like EAC Network.

“Fostering a healthy community starts with healthy residents and families,” said TD Bank in a statement.  “That’s why we came together with the community to collect donations at our stores.”
