EAC NETWORK ANNOUNCES OVER THE EDGE

If you’ve been reading our bi-monthly eNews you might have noticed a certain sneak preview of an upcoming event (not on our e-mailing list? Sign up here!). Well, the wait is over – we are thrilled to announce that EAC Network’s next big event will be Over the Edge!

Over the Edge is a signature event for non-profit organizations: rappelling down the side of a building as a unique and exciting fundraiser! Our rappellers (“Edgers”) will raise donations for EAC Network in exchange for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel Over the Edge of the Tower at Nassau Community College and enjoy the breath-taking views of New York City all for a great cause. Over the Edge will be held on July 1, 2017, so save the date!

How does it work, you ask? It’s simple! No climbing or rappelling experience is necessary; all you need is enough courage to go Over the Edge! On event day, each Edger will receive training on how to rappel. Trained Over the Edge staff and ropes volunteers will make sure Edgers are securely fastened and ready for the safe trip down the building. Edgers will have an opportunity to practice in the harness, and they won’t rappel until they’re ready to.

Each of our Edgers will have to raise a minimum of $1,000 in order to secure their spot to go Over the Edge… so if you’re interested, start thinking about who will support you for a great cause! Think about what issue are you SO OVER that makes YOU want to go Over the Edge for EAC Network. For example, an Edger might be SO OVER the incarceration of the mentally ill. They’re SO OVER the revolving door of recidivists suffering from mental health disorders that they’re going Over the Edge for EAC Network to raise awareness about mental health and to highlight EAC Network’s Mental Health Diversion program.
