The growing and ever-changing digital world often leaves older generations behind. According to the Pew Institute, approximately 30% of adults ages 60 or older do not know how to use technological devices.
Provide seniors with technological instruction.
How We Do it:
With locations at the William P. Bennett Hicksville Community Center and The Bristal at North Hills, volunteer instructors teach the basics of computers, tablets, and smart phones. Small class sizes offer individual and personalized attention, make learning fun, and help seniors overcome their fear of technology. Classes include: computer basics, iPads and tablets, smart phones, the Internet and Internet security, Skype, Microsoft Word, Windows 10, Facebook, digital photo editing, and more.
The Outcomes of Senior Tech of Long Island
Since our first computer learning center opened in 2001, over 10,000 seniors have been introduced to new technologies.
