Student Peer Mediators from Dodd Middle School in Freeport were recently invited guests on a court visit in the Village of Hempstead by Hon. Joy Watson, who had previously swore them in after their completion of a 16-hour Peer Mediation Training by EAC Network’s Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers.
The students were provided with an orientation of the court by Sargent Dentici and Court Officer Christopher Martino, visited the 3rd floor LIDRC mediation rooms, and got to witness court in action. The students also posed many questions regarding careers in the courts, with particular interest in court officers and judges. Sounds like we’ve got some court personnel in the making!
