EAC Network’s Carol O’Neill, LMSW Named as a Long Island Business News Top 50 Women in Business

EAC Network’s Carol O’Neill, LMSW

Named as a Long Island Business News Top 50 Women in Business

On behalf of EAC Network’s staff and Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce that Carol O’Neill, LMSW, Senior Director of Senior & Nutritional Services, has been named as a Long Island Business News Top 50 Woman in business.

O’Neill will join this distinguished group of professional women and be recognized at LIBN’s 20th Anniversary Top 50 Women in Business Awards virtual event on October 15th, starting at 4PM. The Class of 2020 will be celebrated for their achievements through multimedia storytelling while joined together with guests and sponsors in a real-time virtual program using social media platforms.

Carol led EAC Network’s Meals on Wheels response to COVID-19 through the darkest days of the pandemic. She made emergency adaptations and totally revamped Meals on Wheels operations that allowed program staff and committed volunteers to more than double their capacity in delivering life sustaining meals to Nassau County seniors. In the month of July alone, O’Neill used lessons learned from Superstorm Sandy to deliver 23,900 life sustaining meals to 1,000 desperate seniors. Today, O’Neill oversees delivery to 45 Nassau County towns to often invisible and sometimes forgotten hungry and frightened seniors, many of whom are COVID positive.

Carol’s disaster management skills along with nutrition and best business practice expertise were leveraged to streamline the delivery of meals, create new roles for volunteers that better serve the needs of senior populations during COVID-19, and initiate strategies that decrease isolation and loneliness amongst seniors.

Carol is dedicated to securing grants that support the infrastructure of EAC Network’s Meals on Wheels program. A prolific grant writer, she secured over $200,000 in funding for COVID-19 relief efforts.  Her creative and innovative approaches to solving senior hunger during the pandemic included strategic marketing and public relations, which has assisted in expanding funding partnership opportunities.

Please join us in congratulating Carol for her extraordinary commitment and achievements in helping Long Island’s most vulnerable and at-risk senior populations. She is truly a deserving person to receive this prestigious honor.
