EAC Network’s Meals on Wheels program stepped in to provide that desperately needed lifeline, thanks to our network of generous donors and supporters.
Vulnerable Local Seniors Enjoy the Benefits of Nutritious Meals
Since the onset of the pandemic, Meals on Wheels has been on the frontlines consistently delivering healthy meals to at-risk senior citizens throughout Nassau County. Last year, EAC Network’s Meals on Wheels program delivered 136 percent more meals than the year before.
These convenient deliveries did more than fight hunger; they improved the nutrition of seniors in our community.
The Meals on Wheels’ menus are overseen by a licensed dietician who follows the dietary guidelines of the Older Americans Act Nutrition Programs. In fact, 90 percent of Meals on Wheels recipients across America have said that the services of these programs improved their health.

When many local seniors faced the choice between their next meal and other expenses, EAC Network was there to bridge the gap. Its regular deliveries of nutritious meals helped at-risk seniors stay healthy during this challenging time.
EAC Network, the largest provider of Meals on Wheels in Nassau County, is a vital lifeline for local homebound senior citizens. It provides healthy meals, nutrition education, links to additional social services, and visits from friendly faces.
These essential services have enabled many local seniors to not only survive the pandemic but to thrive throughout it.
