It’s the Final Countdown Until Over the Edge!

Get excited, because Over the Edge is this Saturday, July 1, at the Tower at Nassau Community College! What’s Over the Edge, you ask? It’s an exciting fundraiser where our participants, or “Edgers,” rappel 13 stories down the Tower and raise money for our 70+ programs!

Check out this video to get a taste of what Over the Edge will look like!

Our Edgers have raised almost $70,000 to support at-risk children, vulnerable senior citizens, help people with mental health and substance abuse problems, educate people seeking financial independence, assist individuals who are under or unemployed, mediate disputes, and work with families in crisis.

Each of our Edgers are rappelling because they are SO OVER an issue that society faces and EAC Network addresses. We should not sit idly by as problems go on in our community – we should do something about it. We should take action! And that’s exactly what our Edgers are doing. Read below to see what some of our Edgers are SO OVER!

“I am SO OVER child abuse and neglect. I am rappelling today to raise awareness for EAC Network’s Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center.” –Merrill Zorn, President & CEO of Zorn’s of Bethpage

“I am going Over the Edge because I am SO OVER the fact that there are people on Long Island who are struggling with basic needs. It makes me sad that there is so much waste in our society, and I am raising awareness for our Long Island neighbors in need.” –Bob Nystrom, member on the board of EAC Network, and New York Islanders Legend

“I am going Over the Edge because I believe that anyone who has the desire to work should not be held back by a lack of skills. I support the work that EAC Network does for Vocational Services, because everyone who wants to work should have that opportunity.” –Michael Haltman, Owner of Hallmark Abstract Services

“I am SO OVER the opioid epidemic that is tearing apart so many families. I am passionate about giving people the tools they need to better themselves and the people around them through my work as the Program Director of EAC Network’s Staten Island TASC.” –Crystal Stanton, MA, Program Director of Staten Island TASC

So, remember to come to the Tower at Nassau Community College at 1 Education Drive, Garden City on July 1 to see Over the Edge! The event will be from 9:30 AM until 5 PM, but don’t get there too late! Early birds will get to enjoy fun freebies from Arizona Iced Tea, Monster Energy Drinks, Noosa Yoghurt, and more!
