#DownfortheCause Sunsational Party Raises Funds for EAC Network

Last month, Abby Uzamere, Ariel Nelson, and I (of YDR Events) hosted our annual #Sunsational summer charity pool party at a private home in Dix Hills. #Sunsational is one of the two annual events that are part of our #Down4theCause party series.

#Down4theCause is a fun, philanthropic party series in which each party is tied back to the goal of raising donations for a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children and families in need or creating opportunities for education. The mission behind #Down4theCause is to bring together a diverse crowd of young professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives for a good time all while serving a greater purpose. So far, our past events have supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation Metro New York, the United Negro College Fund, and All Star Project NYC.

This time, donations from #Sunsational supported EAC Network, which Ariel discovered while at a town hall meeting. After learning about all that EAC Network Network does to service the Long Island community, Ariel felt inspired and compelled to help this great organization’s initiatives. She approached Abby and me with her idea and we were more than excited to dedicate #Sunsational to EAC Network, which ended up being very well-received by our guests.

“This is my second time attending Sunsational and per usual I had the time of my life. It feels good to know that my attendance is going to supporting a greater cause. From what I’ve learned, EAC Network sounds like an amazing organization!” one of our guests, Randy Seide, told me.

We’re so proud that $400 was raised to help fill in the cracks where it is needed most for EAC Network.  And right now, that’s their CASA and Long Island Parenting Institute programs.
