2019 marks the 33rd year that In-Home Respite Services is supporting family caregivers in Nassau County! The program’s longevity and success are all due to the commitment, dedication, and care of our volunteer respite companions.

This Veterans Day, EAC Network pauses to honor those fearless, proud, and courageous individuals who served (and serve) our country with honor. Such a person is Hal Knapp, an EAC Network In-Home Respite Services Volunteer who served his country with distinction.
On a day to day basis, what are we doing for others? Do we take the time to volunteer? Do we donate time, goods, or funds as much as we should? It’s not that we don’t want to—life is just so busy that we forget, or think we don’t have the time.
Every year we recognize World AIDS day on December 1. It’s a day to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS, and to recognize those who have passed away. Volunteers from M.A.C. Cosmetics came to EAC Network to help at Nutrition Education & Food Services, which improves the lives of individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
Bank of America takes the time to get involved in our programs. Recently, Bank of America employees spent their day giving back to one of EAC Network’s new programs, Fresh from the Garden.
Volunteers from BDO’s Melville office spent a day giving back to EAC Network programs. We greatly appreciate BDO’s commitment to our Long Island community!
For the month of July, EAC Network is partnering with Men’s Wearhouse once again to launch the 10th annual National Suit Drive, a month-long initiative that collects gently-used professional clothing for individuals transitioning back into the workforce.
Get excited, because Over the Edge is this Saturday, July 1, at the Tower at Nassau Community College! What’s Over the Edge, you ask? It’s an exciting fundraiser where our participants, or “Edgers,” rappel 13 stories down the Tower and raise money for our 70+ programs!
On April 2, TLC’s Long Island Medium aired an episode entitled “Victoria’s Test” that featured EAC Network’s very own Meals on Wheels program, from meal preparation to delivery.
Our Senior Centers provide participants with a hot lunch as well as fun activities like Zumba, bingo, board games, karaoke, and crafts. Occasionally, we have generous volunteers who team up with our Senior Centers to host a special craft, which is exactly what a team from PSEG Long Island did recently. PSEG has a long history of community outreach, and we’re always pleased to have their cheerful, supportive volunteers.
