Seniors from our Hempstead Senior Community Service Center attended the recent Village of Hempstead Senior Picnic at Kennedy Park where guests were treated to a family-style lunch, raffles, entertainment by Chauncey Nedd and the Neddmen, bingo, and ice cream. The best part? Two of our members won bingo prizes! Woo!
Once again our incredible friends from MAC Cosmetics came to the rescue of our food pantry for people living with HIV/AIDS in Nassau County. Quick as super heroes, they unloaded a truck stuffed with cases and cases of nutritious food. Three hours of unpacking/labeling food and stocking shelves later, they were gone, leaving the pantry filled to the brim. Thank you, MAC volunteers!
We are SO grateful to have received Brookepacks from the Brooke Jackman Foundation once again! Every year, hundreds of children in our programs receive brand new backpacks filled with school supplies and books so they can be ready and confident on the first day of school! Our North Merrick Senior Community Service Center hosted its 4th Annual Luau where over 70 seniors came to enjoy the entertainment by Dance Aloha, who performed for the seniors and encouraged audience participation. Everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch, Hawaiian chicken, rice and green beans, and for desert an ice cream sundae!
